I’m a jazz musician and a software engineer with a passion for genealogy, cooking, movies and language. I live in Los Angeles with my wife Debra, who is also a genealogy nut with degrees in Egyptology and Beatleology. My adult kids Nicole, Jeff and Greg live in Massachusetts, and as far as I can tell, share enough interest in genealogy to say, “Oh, that’s cool…” when I tell them about a new discovery. My step-sons Malcolm and Corran seem to tolerate our endless discussions of the various ways to find a lost ancestor or the art and science of putting up short wave antennas. My cat’s name is Anna and our 12 year old goldfish, originally named Cecil, has had a number of name changes recently. I’m very fond of calling him Rafael Sabatini.
You can see my family website Dumes.Net which contains family tree data, old documents, photos, movies and also keeps the family connected, as we are so spread across the country and the world today.
